If you’re on this blog, you probably love storytelling as much I do. Maybe you’re feeling proud of your work or looking for feedback, whatever the reason you can share it here. Every Wednesday and Saturday I will feature a piece of work from a reader.
Guidelines to feature your work:
You own all rights to your work, I will not alter it or claim any of it as my own. You may submit work you’ve already posted elsewhere or continue to post it wherever you please after your work has been featured on The Sadness Monster. This Is simply another platform to help you get your work seen. (Note: The only thing I will edit is the size of pictures or videos so that they fit in the blog post.)
If you wish to feature a video please include the tag #letswatchwednesday in your submission or use the tag #letssharesaturday if your work is not in video format.
When submitting your work, please include the work within the submission form or provide me with a link. Include a short bio (50 words or less) and one link of your choice (your blog, YouTube channel, DeviantArt, Tumblr, etc.) with your submission. Please also send a 100×100 photo of yourself or a logo associated with your work.
Your work does NOT need to focus on mental health or mental illness. I will certainly accept those stories if you wish, but I will accept almost any story you can create.
I will not accept any work that may be offensive or hateful. This will be at my sole discretion and it is non-negotiable.
On Wednesdays we wear pink I post videos here. Here’s a list to give you an idea what sort of videos I accept:
If your type of video isn’t on this list, don’t worry! This is by no means an exhaustive list and I’d love to see your content. As long as it tells a story, I’ll most likely accept it.
On Saturday I share pretty much every other medium of storytelling outside of the video format. Here are some examples of what I accept for this day:
Excerpts from a larger piece of work
Again, if your type of storytelling isn’t included here that does not mean I won’t accept it. Just tell me a story and you’re good to go!
Don’t be shy, get your humble-brag on and celebrate your work. Creation is a powerful thing and you should be extremely proud of yourself for anything you produce. You made something that wasn’t in the world before! How cool is that?
So just fill out the form below and I look forward to hearing from you.
